It's not that hard. Just score well on your SAT and get good grades. Pretty much it. Screw the essays, they're meaningless unless you completely sucked at your GPA/SAT

It is supposedly easier for out-of-staters because of the tuition charge, but it is not that tough to get into.
Write a good admissions essayApr 24 2006English
write a good admissions essay...but who cares becuase this school sucks anyways and you shouldn't want to go here...

I had a high GPA and average SATS (1200) with LOTS of extracurricular activities. I attended a "feeder" high school where 40-60 of the students in my class ended up choosing the UW. I wouldn't sweat the admissions process if you have 3.8+ GPA/1200+ SAT score.

Its always good to have a 3.7 and a 1200+ SAT. But I think I am the oddball. I transferd with an A.A. from South Seattle Community College. When I applied I had a 2.71 and I did not submit my SAT or ACT (which I should have done!). However I am a very talented writer, and i wrote a powerful personal statement. So pretty much, I closed my eyes and threw a hail mary applying here and I got a touchdown. UW is not all about numbers, it is also about your personal statement, extracurricular activities, and experience.
